Jennifer is a strategic communications consultant, advocate, trainer, mentor, and speaker. As a Fractional Chief Communications Officer for small-to-mid-sized businesses and nonprofits, her superpower is weeding through the details to ensure an organization’s communications are always focused on the big picture. She is also a passionate advocate for the public relations profession and thrives on helping PR leaders step boldly into their role as a trusted strategic advisor.

During her nearly 30-year career in corporate communications, Jennifer has always sought to broaden the role of public relations. She leads trainings and workshops on corporate messaging; strategic communications planning; and core values, vision, and mission.

Prior to launching her company, ThinkBeyond Public Relations, Jennifer served as vice president of communications for Latin America, the Caribbean and the Southeast USA at British Airways, where she oversaw external and internal communications in 18 markets. She also managed global public relations for travel technology firm Sabre, founder of Travelocity, helping the company establish its new brand following an initial public offering and split from American Airlines.

Before the move to Sabre, Jennifer worked in American’s Corporate Communications department where she handled public relations for the Sabre division and served as a Spanish-speaking spokesperson for the airline. She started her career at American in Spanish Reservations Sales, where she also served on the video production team, initial response group for emergency incidents, and communications team for a reorganization initiative. She was recruited into a management training program and oversaw a team of more than 100.

Through her private forum, the Strategic Communicators Collective, her signature program, Corporate Messaging for Communicators, and the communications planning workshops she leads, Jennifer mentors and trains experienced PR pros to use powerful frameworks that engage staff in multiple departments, strengthen organizational culture, and help companies thrive.

She has spoken at conferences and events hosted by the Public Relations Society of America, the Association of Society Executives, HR groups and others, as well as on podcasts and in magazine interviews about the need for PR pros to embrace strategic communications as a de facto approach to their work.

Jennifer is a certified Step into Your Moxie® workshop facilitator and leads sessions on communications for Vistage CEOs. She is a mentor and coach with The Venture Mentoring Team, Radical Partners and 1909 Accelerator, which support entrepreneurs and social impact leaders. She is a board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and a member of of ColorComm. Jennifer is a past president and board member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, where she also served on the Universal Accreditation Board for the organization. She has served as a board director or committee member with various nonprofits and professional associations in South Florida.

Fluent in Spanish, Jennifer has worked throughout Latin America and lived in Spain, England and Mexico. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and a master’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of North Texas. She is also accredited in public relations (APR).

Jennifer adores spending time with her family, cooking and eating delicious food, exercise, and all things Spain.
